Last-Minute Title Match Revealed for May 28 AEW Dynamite

AEW fans finally got their TNT Title match—but it came down to the wire.

With just two hours left before Dynamite goes live on May 28, Tony Khan took to Twitter to announce a last-minute title bout between Adam Cole and Kyle Fletcher. The matchup was added to the show following Double or Nothing, where Fletcher scored the pin in The Don Callis Family’s victory over Paragon. Khan dropped the update in a single tweet, writing:

“TONIGHT El Paso, TX 8pm ET/7pm CT, TBS + Max Wednesday Night #AEWDynamite TNT Title @AdamColePro vs @kylefletcherpro — After @TheDonCallis Family beat Paragon at #AEWDoN with The Protostar scoring the pin, Fletcher will challenge Adam Cole for the TNT Title on Dynamite TONIGHT!”

The announcement arrived amid mounting concern over AEW’s injury-ridden roster following Double or Nothing. Several top stars are still recovering, including both Young Bucks. This caused AEW to delay match announcements throughout the day, waiting to see who could physically compete.

Despite the scramble, Tony Khan managed to put together a loaded card. The full lineup for tonight’s Dynamite now includes:

• TNT Title Match: Adam Cole vs. Kyle Fletcher
• AEW International Title #1 Contender Tournament Match: Brody King vs. Josh Alexander
• Face-to-Face: Mercedes Moné and Toni Storm
• Hangman Page speaks after winning the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament
• No DQ Match: Megan Bayne & Penelope Ford vs. Anna Jay & Harley Cameron
• Death Riders & Gabe Kidd vs. Willow Nightingale, Mark Briscoe & Mike Bailey

While Jamie Hayter and Will Ospreay came out of Double or Nothing healthy, much of the AEW roster remains on edge. With injury concerns still looming, it’s clear AEW is adjusting on the fly.
