R-Truth is making his return to Friday Night SmackDown this week—just one night before stepping into the ring with John Cena.

WWE announced via its email subscription service that Truth will appear live on the May 23 episode of SmackDown to address his upcoming non-title match with Cena at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.

This sets the stage for an emotional moment, as Truth gears up for what could be one of the biggest matches of his career. It’s a rare spotlight for the veteran, and the timing couldn’t be more perfect. The rest of SmackDown’s lineup remains loaded:

  • Women’s Money in the Bank Qualifier: Giulia vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Zelina Vega
  • Men’s Money in the Bank Qualifier: Aleister Black vs. LA Knight vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
  • WWE Tag Team Championship Match: The Street Profits (c) vs. Fraxiom

SmackDown airs live May 23 at 8 PM ET from the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida on the USA Network. It’s also available for international fans through streaming platforms including Netflix.
