Just hours before the July 9 episode of AEW Dynamite was set to go live, Tony Khan hit Twitter with two big last-minute match announcements — proving that AEW’s go-home show before All In: Texas is still full of surprises.
In a pair of social media posts, Khan revealed that Ricochet will go one-on-one with Blake Christian in a revenge match. The backstory? Ricochet and the Gates of Agony destroyed Vanilla Baby and Big Shotty Lee at AEW Collision, and now Blake is looking to even the score.
Also confirmed — a tag team match featuring ROH World Champion Bandido and Brody King taking on Protoshita, the duo of Konosuke Takeshita and Kyle Fletcher. Khan noted this was a follow-up to the team’s recent 7-on-7 win in Arena México.
These additions stack an already-loaded card, which includes a chaotic eight-man tag match, Samoa Joe in singles action, and a major women’s eliminator bout to determine the No. 2 entry in the Casino Gauntlet at All In: Texas.
With All In: Texas right around the corner, tonight’s Dynamite is shaping up to be must-see TV — and Tony Khan clearly isn’t done adding heat to the fire.
As a reminder, Ringside News will be providing live play-by-play coverage of tonight’s show over in our AEW Dynamite coverage hub. Also keep checking back with Ringside News for more updates, because there could be several before the big show.
