Just over an hour before the November 5 episode of AEW Dynamite was set to go live, Tony Khan jumped on a surprise livestream to drop a major update—and it’s already shaking up the Women’s Blood & Guts landscape.
In a live broadcast on X/Twitter, Khan revealed that Queen Aminata has been officially pulled from tonight’s show due to injury, despite her insisting she was ready to compete. The update affects both tonight’s Blood & Guts Advantage Battle and the Blood & Guts match itself.
“Queen Aminata had said she was going to be good to compete. She wants to fight. She wants to compete. But today here at the arena in the pre-match examinations, the doctors have ruled out Queen Aminata. They do not want her to participate.”
Khan said the decision wasn’t easy, but was made for Aminata’s safety.
“She is a competitor. She wants to fight. She really wants to take on the opponents in this match… But after her injuries, I think the right thing to do is for Queen Aminata to be medically taken out of this match, to be removed.”
In her place, Mina Shirakawa will step up to face Megan Bane in tonight’s Advantage Battle match. Shirakawa, still reeling from her first loss on Collision last week—thanks to interference from the Triangle of Madness—now has a new shot at redemption.
“Mina has also a lot to fight for. She was very upset to have her undefeated run on Collision ended last week… Mina Shirakawa has said she wants to step up.”
And that’s not all. Khan also confirmed that Timeless Toni Storm will return to commentary for the Shirakawa vs. Bane match tonight, adding even more drama to the segment.
“Since Mina Shirakawa is going to step up and fight Megan Bane, Mina’s partner, Timeless Toni Storm, is going to make her return tonight. And Timeless Toni Storm will be on commentary for that advantage battle match.”
This last-minute shift is just one part of a stacked Dynamite card, which includes Hangman Page, HOOK & Eddie Kingston vs. Samoa Joe, Shibata & Hobbs, and quarterfinals of the AEW Women’s Tag Team Tournament featuring Mercedes Moné & Athena vs. Willow Nightingale & Harley Cameron.
Ringside News will be providing live play-by-play coverage of tonight’s show over in our AEW Dynamite coverage hub.
