The fallout from Raja Jackson’s brutal assault on Syko Stu continues to unfold, and now Doug “The Epic” Malo has gone public about what’s really happening behind the scenes of the LAPD investigation.
Speaking on Masters of Wrestling, Malo revealed that he recently spoke directly with a detective involved in the case. The officer wanted to hear from those who were physically present to get a clearer understanding of what went down. Malo admitted to his own involvement during the chaos and didn’t hold back when describing the footage.
“Yeah, I just talked to the detective today. He wanted to speak with me and a few others to get our side of it. I can’t really go into detail about what they’re looking for. I even told him about the clips of me punching him. If you watch the video from behind, you can see me throwing punches. I headbutted him and I bit him. I told the detective they’re going to see the gash near my eye. I said, after he punched me, this is what I did. He told me he didn’t see that, and I said, well, I’m letting you know anyway because at the end of the day, even if I get in trouble, we need to figure out what’s right and what’s fair.”
The footage Malo referenced reportedly shows him actively engaging during the incident, but he emphasized it was all in self-defense after being attacked first. His injury—a gash near his eye—was cited as proof.
He went on to confirm that the LAPD isn’t just zeroing in on Raja Jackson. According to Malo, anyone who was captured on video making comments or issuing instructions during the confrontation is being targeted for questioning.
“Right now, I know they’re looking into a lot of things. They’re planning to talk to everyone who’s been on camera. Every single person on camera who was talking and saying, ‘We could do this’ or ‘We could do that’—they want to talk to them all.”
Adding fuel to the fire, Malo accused KnokX Pro of allegedly telling talent not to cooperate with police and went so far as to claim that AJ Mana should be considered an accessory to the crime for encouraging Raja Jackson before the attack.
The LAPD investigation is far from over, and Doug Malo’s comments show just how wide the scope may be. With multiple people now in the spotlight, things could get even messier before the dust settles.
