Lance Anoa’i signed with WWE back in the Summer last year but he’s had to face numerous hurdles since then. Unfortunately, it appears he suffered yet another setback that has delayed his debut.

While speaking on the Fightful Select Q&A podcast, Sean Ross Sapp revealed that Lance Anoa’i suffered another injury. He explained that Anoa’i had a couple of setbacks, starting with an injury shortly after signing last year that was expected to sideline him well into 2025.

Unfortunately, Lance Anoa’i then sustained another injury, leaving him still out this summer. Sapp described it as very unfortunate luck that has kept him from appearing.

“He’s had a couple of setbacks. He got injured very early after getting signed last year, and was planned to be sidelined pretty well into 2025. However, based on what we heard, he sustained another injury after that and was still injured this summer. Just very unfortunate luck that has prevented him from appearing.”

The son of Samu and a member of the legendary Anoa’i family, Lance Anoa’i built his name in Major League Wrestling, where he competed from 2018 until 2023 before moving on to new opportunities. He also showed off his talent internationally in Pro Wrestling NOAH’s 2023 N1-Victory Tournament, earning big wins over Go Shiozaki, El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr., and Yuma Anzai.

At only 33 years old, Lance Anoa’i still has plenty of time to recover and eventually make his impact in WWE once he’s cleared. Even then, the back-to-back setbacks have been difficult, creating frustration not only for him but also for fans who want to see him debut in WWE. We wish him all the best and hope he makes his WWE debut as soon as possible.

Do you think Lance Anoa’i can still have a breakout run in WWE once he recovers, or will the injuries hurt his long-term momentum? Sound off in the comments.
