LA Knight’s WWE run in 2025 has come to a temporary halt — but not for the reasons some might assume.
On the December 15 episode of WWE RAW from Hershey, Pennsylvania, Joe Tessitore provided an on-air update regarding Knight’s condition following his ambush the previous week. After being taken out by The Vision during his match with Logan Paul, Knight was flattened by a Tsunami splash from Bronson Reed. According to Tessitore, Knight suffered multiple injuries, with the most serious being a cracked sternum. As a result, he’s now “out of action indefinitely.”
Naturally, speculation started swirling — but Sean Ross Sapp offered some clarity in a Fightful Select Q&A when asked if WWE had completely buried LA Knight.
“Man, I just don’t get this. He was booked to go to the finals of the John Cena tournament, and beat Jey Uso along the way. I can’t speak to his future outside of him having years left on his contract, but I don’t see it as a burial. Not everyone can be the world champion at the same time. I think this is the type of reaction WWE wants to conjure up, and I’ve been saying that since August. He’s off until 2026 at least.”
At this point, there’s only one RAW left in 2025 that hasn’t been taped — the December 29th show — and WWE has already taped the Christmas week episode. So, this isn’t a lengthy absence. It’s a planned break that lines up with the year-end slowdown.
There’s no indication LA Knight’s push is over — just paused. LA Knight might be off TV, but this isn’t a burial—it’s just business. With one episode of RAW left in the year and next week already taped, missing December 29 isn’t some dramatic downfall. WWE knows exactly what it’s doing when it pulls a popular name off screen like this.
