LA Knight isn’t shy about acknowledging his journey to the top, and he’s making it clear that his rise in WWE wasn’t handed to him on a silver platter.
While appearing on The Getting Over podcast, Knight compared his success to Goldberg’s, pointing out that unlike the WCW legend, he wasn’t positioned to be a megastar from the start—he made it happen on his own.
“I mean it’s made a crazy turn and honestly, even though it’s been a long, long road, it’s been such a short, incredibly, damn near record-setting journey,” Knight said. “If you look at just the last 10 months or 12 months or whatever, I don’t think we’ve ever seen anything like this.”
Knight doubled down on his belief that his journey was unlike anything seen before in WWE, emphasizing that while Goldberg was “slated to be in that position,” he had to fight for every opportunity.
“Here’s a guy who had none of that and still was able to make it happen. So, like, again, I have to toot my own horn, so toot toot, because I’ve been the only one tooting it for this long, so I will continue to toot all the way down the road.”
His undeniable connection with fans turned him into one of WWE’s biggest stars, eventually leading to a United States Championship run. Even though he’s no longer holding gold, Knight remains one of the top names in the company, and fans are eagerly waiting to see what’s next for him.
LA Knight isn’t just talking the talk—he’s walking it every week on WWE TV, proving that his success wasn’t manufactured, it was earned. Whether WWE fully capitalizes on his momentum or not, one thing’s for sure: he’s not waiting around for permission to be a star. Fans are behind him, and if history has shown anything, it’s that LA Knight doesn’t need WWE’s machine to tell him he’s the guy—he already knows it.
