The Full Gear 2025 pay-per-view saw Kyle O’Reilly defeat Jon Moxley once again. Unfortunately, it appears he will now be out of action due to injury.
While speaking on the post-AEW Full Gear media scrum, Tony Khan confirmed that Kyle O’Reilly will be out of action following his intense No Holds Barred match with Jon Moxley.
The timing is unfortunate, as Kyle had hoped to compete in the Continental Classic. Khan noted that Kyle will likely not be cleared to wrestle and will need time to recover from the injuries suffered in what turned out to be a huge, career-defining victory.
“After the actions of Jon Moxley and the hard-hitting match they had, Kyle O’Reilly will now be out of action. It’s unfortunate because he really wanted to compete in the Continental Classic. Kyle is probably not going to be cleared and will have to deal with injuries coming out of what was a great No Holds Barred match — and arguably the biggest win of his career.”
At AEW Full Gear, Kyle O’Reilly managed to tap out Jon Moxley once again. Afterwards, Moxley got incredibly frustrated and brutally attacked O’Reilly. It came to a point that the Conglomerate had to help O’Reilly to the back after the brutal assault.
Kyle O’Reilly’s win at Full Gear showed he can defeat big names like Jon Moxley consistently, but the price was high. His injuries now put a pause on the momentum AEW seemed ready to give him, and it’s not yet clear how long he’ll be out of the ring. So we’ll have to see when he’ll return to in-ring action.
