AEW fans were left holding their breath after Kyle Fletcher took a brutal landing during his semi-final match against Jon Moxley at Worlds End. But now, there’s some relief—Fletcher is doing okay.

According to Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer, Fletcher is “doing fine” after being dropped directly on his neck from a vicious avalanche sleeper suplex. The spot had fans and veterans alike concerned, especially as Fletcher continued the match and ultimately passed out from Moxley’s rear naked choke.

“Fletcher appears to be fine after being dropped on his head in the Moxley match last night.”

This comes as a major relief for fans, especially after William Regal tore into the match’s high-risk execution. Regal, who has suffered multiple neck injuries himself, went off on social media, calling out what he sees as a dangerous trend among modern wrestlers:

“After Misawa San passed from his neck problems, I thought it would stop this nonsense—but it’s gotten worse.

Broken necks or death are not something you should think is tough or cool. It’s idiotic thinking.”

Regal didn’t mention Moxley or Fletcher by name, but his comments were clearly directed at the kind of spot seen during their match—questioning the need for risky moves that could lead to permanent injury or worse.

With Fletcher thankfully escaping serious harm, this could be a wake-up call—or at least a moment of reflection—for both talent and promoters alike.
