Kyle Fletcher may be dealing with a real injury after a rough moment during AEW Collision.
The TNT Champion competed on Saturday night’s Collision show in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, teaming with Mark Davis to face Zachary Wentz and Dezmond Xavier of The Rascals. During the match, Fletcher appeared to hurt his knee after an awkward landing that had fans immediately concerned.
According to Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer, the situation isn’t just storyline-related and looks to be legitimate.
“Kyle Fletcher left the show tonight in a walking boot. Whatever the injury is it’s legit. Hoping for the best.”
The injury scare happened during a spot where Fletcher’s knee collided with the back of Mark Davis as both men fell. Fletcher’s knee appeared to land awkwardly on impact, but he pushed through the pain and finished the match. Davis ultimately picked up the win for their team despite the scary moment.
Fletcher has been heavily featured on AEW television lately, especially in storyline developments involving Konosuke Takeshita and Kazuchika Okada within the Don Callis Family. Just recently on Collision, Okada told Fletcher they would become champions again because he believed in him, while Fletcher responded by saying once they regained the Trios titles, he planned to go after MJF.
Now, that momentum could be put on hold depending on how serious this injury turns out to be. A walking boot usually signals at least some level of concern, and fans will likely be watching closely for updates in the coming days.
