It looks like WWE fans might be getting a full-circle farewell for John Cena—straight from the mouth of a wrestling legend.

In an interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Bill Apter, Kurt Angle seemingly confirmed the recent report that WWE is planning to name John Cena’s final Premium Live Event Ruthless Aggression—a direct nod to the era that launched Cena into superstardom.

“John Cena, he’s gonna be immortalized when he retires,” Angle said. “I mean, his last match, whether it be at WrestleMania or whether it be at a pay-per-view in December—which I heard some rumors that they might call the pay-per-view ‘Ruthless Aggression.’”

This lines up with a previous report from Billi Bhatti on The Dirt Sheets Wrestling Informer podcast, who claimed WWE was considering a year-end show themed after Cena’s iconic 2002 debut, where he stepped up to Kurt Angle himself and slapped him across the face after declaring “Ruthless Aggression.”

WWE is expected to hold Cena’s final match on December 27 during the company’s annual holiday tour. While Madison Square Garden is usually the go-to venue, there’s strong buzz that the TD Garden in Boston—Cena’s home turf—could be chosen for the sendoff.

Angle’s comments now add even more weight to the idea, giving fans a potential early confirmation before WWE makes anything official. If the event does end up being branded Ruthless Aggression, it’s not just a tribute—it’s a perfect bookend to one of the most decorated careers in wrestling history.
