Kris Statlander just pulled off one of the biggest surprises at AEW All Out—and she’s soaking in every bit of it.
At the September 20 event, Statlander stunned fans by dethroning ‘Timeless’ Toni Storm in a triple threat match for the AEW Women’s World Championship. Using a perfectly timed seat belt pin, she snatched the title in what many are calling a breakout moment.
Shortly after her win, Statlander shared her reaction in a digital exclusive posted on AEW’s social media. She admitted even she was caught off guard by how fast it all happened.
“I mean, I never thought, well, not that I never thought I’d say that. I just didn’t expect it to happen so soon. But I can finally say that Kris Statlander is the AEW Women’s World Champion.”
But that wasn’t all—Statlander reminded everyone of her place in AEW history.
“Not only that, I am the only person ever to have ever been the TBS Champion and the AEW Women’s World Champion.”
The former TBS Champ emphasized the years of hard work it took to reach this point.
“You wait so long for an opportunity like this. You train so hard, harder than anyone. You listen to the right people, you go down the path you should have always been going down, you realize and then all of a sudden you’re back at the top and you’re on a list of elite people.”
And she’s already calling out anyone who wants next.
“So if Toni Storm, or if any of you watching this want a shot at this, you give Stat Daddy a call.”
With that, Statlander officially plants her flag as the new face of the AEW women’s division.
