MJF may still be one of AEW’s biggest names, but not everyone is sold on his current direction. Wrestling veteran Konnan didn’t hold back when discussing the former AEW World Champion’s recent run, saying on Keepin’ It 100 that MJF has “gone cold” in AEW.
“I just thought bro, MJF has kind of gotten cold,” Konnan stated bluntly. He specifically took issue with MJF’s storyline with Adam Cole, calling it a disaster.
He continued, “The thing with Adam Cole was terrible, and then they extended it. You know what I’m saying? Like that finish and him revealing to be him [The Devil] made Cole look dumb. Then they took more time off because he broke his leg or something like that, his ankle right? And MJF hasn’t really done anything hot since then.”
Despite the criticism, MJF remains front and center in AEW, recently continuing his feud with WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett on Dynamite. Whether this new rivalry will reignite his run remains to be seen, but with opinions like Konnan’s floating around, the pressure is definitely on.
MJF has never been one to shy away from controversy, but with Konnan calling out his recent run as “cold,” the conversation around his place in AEW is heating up. Whether this is just a temporary slump or a sign of deeper issues, one thing is clear—MJF still has the ability to get people talking. The question now is whether he can turn things around and prove the doubters wrong.
Is Konnan right about MJF cooling off in AEW, or is this just part of a bigger storyline? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
