Killer Kross is stepping out of the wrestling ring and straight onto the big screen.
Details have emerged via Deadline about Godshot, a gritty new action-drama currently filming in Chicago, and Deadline reports that former WWE star Kevin Kesar—better known to fans as Karrion Kross—is officially part of the stacked ensemble cast.
The film is based on the life of Sammy Horowitz, a real-life former ex-con turned pro boxer turned Hollywood stuntman, who also stars in the project. He co-wrote the script with Adam Pasen and describes the film as deeply personal.
“Besides being based on much of my life, this movie is dedicated to the stunt community, Chicago, and all the people I’ve met along the way who helped bring this to fruition,” Horowitz said. “This is my Rocky story — the very fact we were able to make it is proof that Godshots exist.”
Kross joins an impressive lineup that includes Hellboy legend Ron Perlman, William Forsythe (The Devil’s Rejects), Kris D. Lofton, Joe Miñoso, Jon Seda, Marila Lombrozo, and Sari Sanchez.
According to the official synopsis, Godshot follows a recently released ex-con who finds redemption through the world of high-risk Hollywood stunt work—only to realize that the most dangerous stunt of all is escaping his past. Kross didn’t hold back his excitement when sharing the news on X/Twitter:
“Check this out guys, a little bit more about the film we were working on. Cannot wait for you all to see #Godshot!”
Gabriel Beristain directs the project, with production from Warner Davis and Todd Friedman of Hemlock Circle Productions, along with Horowitz, Aiman Humaideh, and Kimberly Hines.
“Godshot is the kind of character-driven action story we don’t see enough of, raw, grounded, and powered by real emotion,” said Davis.
“This film shines a light on the unsung heroes of Hollywood stunts, and Sammy’s script, combined with Gabriel’s visual expertise, makes this an unforgettable cinematic experience,” added Friedman.
The film is currently shooting in Chicago with a release date yet to be announced. Kross has made it no secret that he’s been looking for new ventures outside wrestling—and Godshot might just be his breakout performance.
