Danhausen’s been away from AEW television since making an appearance at ROH Final Battle. While there’s no indication he’ll be back anytime soon, it seems a key name in WWE is interested in bringing him in.
Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that Fightful reported Danhausen’s AEW contract was extended because of the time he spent out of action.
Meltzer said Danhausen has not been used recently and had hoped for the deal to expire. However some in WWE are interested in his gimmick, including Dwayne Johnson, who was a big fan of Danhausen when he first began gaining attention.
“Fightful reported that Danhausen’s deal was extended due to his time off. He’s not being used and he wanted the contract to end. There are those in WWE into that gimmick, including Dwayne Johnson, who was a big fan of him when he first started making his name.”
Danhausen’s AEW contract was set to expire in July but AEW obviously extended it. That’s not all as WWE is “very interested” in signing Danhausen as well, but that might not be happening anytime soon.
Considering the fact that The Rock is actually interested in Danhausen, fans are now more than hyped to see him make his way to WWE eventually, so we’ll have to see when that will ultimately happen.
