There was definitely a ton of speculation about Kevin Owens’ future in WWE, as there had been no clear signs of him signing a new contract with the company. However, now it appears that Owens has seemingly confirmed he has re-signed with WWE.
Last year, Kevin Owens confirmed that there had been no changes to his contract status since it was actually nearing its end. At the time, Kevin Owens had not signed a contract extension with WWE and his future with WWE remained uncertain. In fact, many believed there was a chance he would go to AEW.
”During an interview with Metro UK back in May, Owens revealed that his current deal is set to expire in the early part of next year. He tells The Takedown on SI that the only change in his contract status since then is that there’s now less time on his deal.”
Interestingly enough, The Prizefighter took to Twitter and seemingly confirmed that he has re-signed with WWE. Owens mentioned that if fans support his daughter’s Girl Scout troop by purchasing cookies, he would continue wrestling for at least 4 years, 11 months and 22 days more, which more or less meant how much time he had remaining on his new WWE contract.
“If you guys help support my daughter’s Girl Scout troop by buying some cookies, I promise to keep wrestling for at least 4 years, 11 months and 22 days more.”
While Kevin Owens didn’t say for sure that he signed a new contract, his words suggest he will stay in WWE for almost five more years. Therefore, fans are obviously happy to hear this news. With WrestleMania 41 coming up, it will be exciting to see what WWE has planned for him.
