Kevin Owens is done sugarcoating his injury situation—the former Universal Champion is finally going under the knife, and now we know when.

Speaking on What Do You Wanna Talk About? with Cody Rhodes, Owens opened up about his scary spinal cord issues, confirming that surgery is officially happening soon and he’s aiming to be back sometime in July. After months of trying to tough it out, the damage became too severe to ignore.

“I’ve been dealing with a pretty serious injury for a while. It’s a problem with my spine, like my neck and back. The nerves are getting affected, my arms are going numb, my fingers — like, it’s not great. So, surgery is happening soon. I can’t wait to get it done, honestly, not just to get back in the ring, but to just not be in pain anymore.”

As for when fans might see him back inside the squared circle, Owens wasn’t overpromising—but he did offer a rough timeline.

“As for when I’ll be back, the hope is sometime in July, but I’m not gonna rush it. It’ll be when it’s right. That’s the priority — getting healthy the right way.”

Owens first confirmed the spinal cord damage during his appearance on Cody Rhodes’ podcast, explaining how the pain, numbness, and weakness snowballed until he had no choice but to shut things down.

Luckily, he’s had solid backup in the form of Randy Orton, who connected him with the same surgeon that saved his own career. Owens now has four specialists tracking his recovery and treatment, leaving him confident that he’s in good hands.

For now, all eyes are on July—but whether KO comes back then or later, the message is clear: he’s focused on getting healthy the right way, not just rushing back for the sake of it.
