Kevin Nash has never been shy about sharing his views, and this time the WWE Hall of Famer is firing off at ICE.
On his Kliq This podcast, Nash went off on the agency, saying they act more like enforcers than trained officers when dealing with everyday people. He even brought up actor Dean Cain — who famously played Superman before becoming an ICE agent — as an example of someone who likely wasn’t properly trained to deal with the public.
“I saw the ICE guys. Okay, so Dean Cain — who played Superman — yeah, he became an ICE agent. Well, I’ll guarantee you that Dean Cain didn’t go to an academy that taught him how to f***** work with the f****** American civilians, like dealing with people — you can’t just pull a f****** handgun out and stick it in somebody’s face. You can’t do that if you’re a police officer. No, not at all. But you can do that if you’re an ICE agent.”*
According to Nash, ICE was supposed to be about catching dangerous criminals, but in his view, they often target harmless people instead. He described situations like a woman just trying to buy meat or workers grabbing coffee before their shifts, while ICE operates in upscale neighborhoods instead of tackling drug problems in areas that need it most.
“Well, a 53-year-old lady going down to the f**** butcher to f***** get some meat, or a couple of guys drinking coffee out front of a f***** place on their way to work — one who’s just getting out of surgery after being in the hospital for a couple of weeks — they’re snatching those f***** people. Like, what are we doing? Maybe I’m just f***** naive, but don’t you need to be in the hood to do any good? Every time I see ICE somewhere, they look like they’re in f***** white suburbia.”*
Nash said the whole thing is nothing more than scare tactics meant to discourage immigration, but it doesn’t even line up with the actual numbers of people crossing the border. Instead, he believes ICE is now targeting immigrants who have been in the U.S. for decades, building lives and contributing to the workforce.
“The thing is, man, it’s just a bad optic. It’s made to scare people from coming here. But it’s not working — they’ve already proven by the numbers that people aren’t fing coming in. If you want asylum, go f* yourself. They’re not coming in. So now what we’ve got left is basically a 30-year-old workforce of undocumented people who’ve built lives in this country — and now you’re going to start fing jackhammering the fing foundation of that. I just look at it all and think, come on, man, can we just f**ing use some common sense?”
Nash isn’t the only wrestling name to rip ICE. Nikki Bella blasted the agency for splitting families apart, Brie Bella called their actions “evil,” Mick Foley labeled their tactics “intentionally cruel,” and CM Punk also made his anti-ICE stance clear.
Nash’s rant shows how strongly he feels about immigration being handled unfairly. To him, ICE isn’t keeping the country safe — they’re creating fear where it doesn’t belong.
