Jade Cargill has been getting a ton of hate from fans from the very first day she joined WWE, and Kevin Nash thinks the hate comes from a place of insecurity.
After weeks of fans questioning Cargill’s in-ring ability and comparing her to Goldberg, the WWE Women’s Champion addressed the noise herself. But now, Nash is stepping in and offering a very different take on why the backlash exists. Speaking on the Kliq This podcast, Nash didn’t hold back when talking about the criticism surrounding Cargill, suggesting it has less to do with her wrestling and more to do with how people perceive her.
“Her confidence seems to intimidate the girls. I think the biggest thing is people started following her on social media, and they saw who her husband was, and they see how she lives outside of wrestling.”
Nash pointed to her lifestyle and presence outside the ring as a major factor, implying that what fans are reacting to goes beyond what happens during matches. He then broke it down even further, framing the negativity as something deeper: “It’s like she’s just here for a minute, so I think there’s hate there. It’s insecurity.”
That’s the core of his argument. Instead of focusing on the usual “can she wrestle” debate, Nash is saying the criticism is rooted in how people feel about her confidence, success, and overall image. And he didn’t stop there. Nash also brought up her physical presence, explaining that seeing her in person changes the perception entirely.
“Plus, I mean, the first time I saw her in person, I was just like, ‘Holy f***,’ because she’s much bigger than you think she’s going to be. She’s like 5'10.”
Cargill has already responded to critics by pointing to her accomplishments — championships, visibility, and financial success — but now Nash is backing her up from a different perspective, making it clear that the backlash says more about the critics than it does about her. This isn’t just about whether Jade Cargill can wrestle — it’s about why people keep questioning her in the first place.
