Raja Jackson’s vicious attack on Syko Stu at a KnokX Pro event continues to be a major topic of discussion, as many have condemned his actions. However, Kevin Nash has a different take as he blamed the camera for the whole ordeal.
While speaking on the Kliq This podcast, Kevin Nash criticized Syko Stu’s actions. He said it made no sense for Stu to hit someone he didn’t even know, and that apologizing only because Jackson wasn’t a wrestler was ridiculous. Nash argued that it shouldn’t be acceptable to attack someone just because they are a worker.
“After the can went up, Syko came over and said, ‘I didn’t realize you weren’t a worker, I’m sorry.’ Like, how do you not know? Who just goes up to somebody they don’t know and hits them? That’s the stupid part. ‘Oh, I didn’t realize you weren’t a worker.’ So what—if I was a worker, then it’s fine to hit me with a can? What the f***?”
Nash also pointed out that the camera was the culprit, since the moment was being recorded. Stu may have assumed Jackson was a worker because of how he looked and the equipment he was using. Nash noted that Jackson appeared in shape, unlike some of the others, and as a Black man, he stood out in a locker room where there weren’t others who looked like him.
Because of this, Stu might have believed Jackson was somebody important, even assuming he could be Rampage’s son trying to get on camera, which is something wrestlers often do.
“Like number one, it’s the camera. The camera is the culprit. It was being recorded for a while. He probably thought the guy had a decent setup. Not just a handheld, but maybe one of those gimmicks where you put your phone in a holder and walk around filming. And Jackson—he looks like he’s in shape, not like these fat f***s, and he’s a person of color. I didn’t see anyone else Black in the locker room, so maybe he assumed, ‘Okay, this guy must be somebody.’ I’m sure he was saying he’s Rampage’s kid, trying to get on camera. He’s a worker. That’s what workers do.”
As for Syko Stu, he has been discharged from the hospital and is currently recovering at home. On the other hand, California State authorities will be picking up Raja Jackson’s case and carrying on with the investigation, since there are all kinds of charges Jackson could be facing. So we’ll have to see what will become of Jackson in the end, as things don’t look good for him right now.
Do you agree with Kevin Nash that the camera played a role in this incident, or do you think Raja Jackson alone should be held responsible? Sound off in the comments.
