Kevin Nash has been highly critical of Becky Lynch lately and it seems he’s not done yet, as the WWE Hall of Famer called out Becky Lynch’s actions on RAW last week to be more like domestic violence.

While speaking on the Kliq This podcast, Kevin Nash talked about Becky Lynch after her RAW segment with CM Punk and addressed backlash for his criticism of Becky Lynch last week.

Nash said that Becky originally got over because of the moment when Nia Jax busted her open, creating the now-iconic visual of a defiant, bloodied underdog that fans rallied behind. According to Nash, that was the persona that made her a star, and she ran with it to become hugely popular.

Nash thinks Becky isn’t the same now. Since becoming a mom, he feels she lost some of her edge and hunger, which is normal in life. He also said wrestling doesn’t work when things are forced on fans; they’ll reject it.

“So I made a statement about Becky Lynch and I see people telling me to shut the f*** up. But here’s the thing—when Becky got over, it was because Nia Jax busted her open. There was that visual of this pretty red-haired girl, petite, defiant, and no-selling it. That was the moment that made her. She took that and ran with it, and she got super over.

But in my opinion, she’s not the same as she was back then. Once she had a child, she lost some of that edge, some of that hunger. That happens—it’s life. And the problem with wrestling is if you force something down people’s throats, they’ll spit it back up.”

Nash also criticized her segment with Punk on the September 1st edition of Raw, saying the physical altercation came across more like domestic abuse than good heel heat, which he believes sends the wrong message. He pointed out the inconsistency in WWE censoring certain offensive words but being fine with something that resembles domestic violence.

“When she went violent on Phil, with the smacking, it felt like watching Deborah Winger and West Hightower in Urban Cowboy. It came off like domestic abuse—and that’s not the kind of heat you want. The company censors a line like ‘eat a fat f***,’ but apparently portraying domestic violence is okay? That doesn’t sit right.”

Nash added that her “gross ball sweat” line felt fake and predictable. To him, it was just the same cheap heat as insulting a city’s sports team. He questioned if this is really the kind of writing WWE should be doing.

“Then Becky gets a line on Raw to say ‘gross ball sweat.’ I saw it coming—it felt so contrived. Like George C. Scott in Patton—‘you magnificent son of a bitch, I read your book’—I knew exactly what was going to happen. And it’s the same old cheap heat, like when someone says, ‘The only bigger losers than you guys are the Eagles here in Philadelphia tonight.’ Come on, man. That’s where we’re at?”

Kevin Nash’s words will keep fans talking for a long time. Some might agree that Becky Lynch isn’t as sharp as before and that WWE’s stories feel the same, while others will think he’s being too harsh. Either way, people won’t stop discussing Becky’s character anytime soon and Nash will definitely remain unapologetic about his opinion.
