Kevin Nash just shared one of the wildest road stories of his wrestling career—one that somehow didn’t end in a DUI.
Speaking on the latest Kliq This podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer recalled a chaotic post-WCW Nitro night in Columbus, Ohio, when a heavy snowstorm blanketed the city and disrupted travel. Rather than board a WCW-arranged charter flight, Nash and a friend decided to drive 500 miles through a blizzard overnight—loaded up on eight double cheeseburgers and a case of beer.
That’s when things got sketchy. Nash said he drank 18 beers in about four hours while driving down the middle of the interstate. Eventually, he pulled off at a snowy gas station and, for fun, decided to slam the brakes at 35 mph to see how far the car would slide. What he didn’t realize? A state trooper was right behind him.
“The guy comes up, and he goes, ‘What was that?’ I said, ‘Oh, I was just checking the skid ratio,’ explaining that I lived in Florida and wasn’t used to driving in snow.”
“So, he says, ‘Have you had anything to drink?’ I said, ‘Yeah, I had a couple of beers at Applebee’s.’ He goes, ‘The answer’s either no or I had one. It’s never a couple.’ He goes, ‘That wins you a fucin blow into the breathalyzer.’”*
Nash blew into the device. The result?
“He says, ‘You’re 0.02, so you’re a quarter of the way intoxicated. I’d much rather have your buddy drive. You were driving down the middle of the road, and I couldn’t catch up to you.’”
Nash got out of the driver’s seat and let his sober friend take over—but not before making one last move.
“I went into the gas station and bought another six-pack. The cop watched me put it in the trunk and just shook his head.”
His co-host Sean Oliver later joked that Nash would’ve needed to drink 72 beers to hit the legal DUI threshold of 0.08—stats that still don’t touch the legendary numbers Andre the Giant was known for.
Should Nash have even been behind the wheel to begin with—or was this just another wild story from the road-warrior era of wrestling? Let us know in the comments.
