Kevin Kelly has been part of the pro wrestling business for decades now, having been part of several companies, and that includes WWE. It’s been a long time since he was part of WWE but it appears Kelly is willing to make a one-off appearance to interview The Rock.
A fan took to Twitter and asked Kevin Kelly if he is currently a free agent and whether he has tried reaching out to WWE for a play-by-play role. They also asked if he is under contract with NJPW, which might prevent him from pursuing other opportunities.
“Are you a free agent currently and tried reaching out to WWE for play by play role? Or you are contracted to NJPW and can’t for now?”
Kevin Kelly responded that he hasn’t reached out to WWE, noting that the company already has plenty of talented commentators. He added that he would love to return for a one-time interview with The Rock, similar to the ones they used to do in the past.
“I haven’t reached out. Besides @WWE is set with lots of talent behind the microphone. I would love to come back for a one-time interview with @TheRock like we used to do.”
Kevin Kelly worked for WWE from 1996 to 2003 before his departure from the company before making his way to MLW, NJPW and eventually AEW. Following his AEW firing, he remains a free agent, so we will have to wait and see whether Kelly will make his way back to WWE for a one-off interview with The Rock. After all, fans would more than love to see that happen for the sake of nostalgia.
