Kenny Omega has no problem with AJ Styles entering the WWE Hall of Fame now, and he made it clear he believes the timing is exactly right.
During an interview with Haley Miller of Vice Magazine, Omega spoke about Styles’ career and the news of his upcoming Hall of Fame induction. Some fans questioned whether the honor was happening too soon after Styles’ retirement, but Omega didn’t see it that way at all.
Omega reflected on Styles’ long run across multiple companies, pointing out how important he was to the rise of Bullet Club in Japan and the success he later had in WWE. He said Styles’ impact across the wrestling world already speaks for itself, and there’s no reason to delay recognition just for tradition.
While explaining why he believes Styles deserves the honor right now, Omega said the idea of making someone wait years for a Hall of Fame spot doesn’t always make sense, especially when their legacy is already clear.
“Like you had brought up, he had been such an integral part of the Bullet Club in Japan, whether people realize it or not, because some people maybe just weren’t watching. If you go back and you tune into the old TNA stuff way back in the day, a lot of the notoriety that they had gained was because of the efforts of people like AJ Styles, and for him to take that experience, to do what he did then with the Bullet Club, to then go and do what he did with WWE, I do feel like already his contributions sort of allow for the induction. So for me, it’s not too soon."
"I feel like for as long a career as he’s had, there’s no use and just no point either. We know you’re going to be a Hall of Famer, but sit tight for like 10 years and then just for the sake of a formality, come back. I’m really glad and happy that’s happening to him now, because we never really know what’s going to happen tomorrow. So if the flowers were guaranteed anyway, you might as well give it to him now.”
Omega’s comments show just how much respect exists between top stars from the same era. He made it clear that Styles’ work in TNA, Japan, and WWE built a resume strong enough to earn recognition without waiting years for it. With Styles’ induction getting closer, Omega’s words add more weight to the moment and reinforce how widely respected Styles is across the industry.
