Kendal Grey didn’t just lose her shot at the NXT Women’s Championship at New Year’s Evil—she also walked away needing dental work after taking a nasty knee to the face from Jacy Jayne.

On January 8, 2026, just two days after the match, Grey took to Twitter, uploading photos of herself in a dental chair. The tweet confirmed that she’s undergoing a procedure to fix her teeth following the unintentional hit.

“Fixing my teeth 😃 Thanks @jacyjaynewwe Next time I get my hands on ya, this will be you instead…🤬”

The match, which aired during the first hour of NXT: New Year’s Evil on January 6, featured Jacy Jayne defending her title against Grey in a hard-hitting bout. Grey held her own early, even wiping out Jayne’s faction—Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid—with a high-risk dive to the outside. But the tide turned when Jayne launched into a cannonball that slammed Grey against the barricade. From there, chaos followed.

Grey nearly won with a submission before Henley interfered. Though she managed to lock in her hold again, Jayne escaped and sealed the deal with her Rolling Encore finisher—retaining her championship and apparently knocking a few teeth loose in the process.

Grey’s not just licking her wounds, though—she’s fired up and ready for payback. The NXT women’s division is heating up, and this injury just made things a whole lot more personal.
