Kazuchika Okada has already collected an impressive trio of titles in AEW—but he’s far from satisfied.

In a recent interview with Tokyo Sports, the Rainmaker made it clear that his next goal is the AEW World Championship, signaling his intentions to move from mid-card gold to AEW’s top prize as he enters his third year with the company.

“I still have the International belt (after losing the Continental title in December last year), but I definitely need to aim for the AEW main event [World] Heavyweight belt,” Okada said. “I’ve been fighting in different title fights for a long time, so I want to go there and win the belt, and I hope to come back to Japan with that in mind.”

Okada lost the AEW Continental Championship to Jon Moxley at AEW Worlds End in the tournament finals, but remains AEW International Champion. He also held the AEW Unified Championship, further cementing his dominance across multiple title scenes.

While he hasn’t wrestled on AEW TV since the loss to Moxley, Okada did return to the ring in a high-profile bout—facing Hiroshi Tanahashi in Tanahashi’s retirement match at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 20 earlier this month.

Okada’s growing ambition in AEW suggests a collision course with whoever holds the AEW World Title—and given his global pedigree, a title run at the top feels inevitable.
