Another name has been added to WWE’s growing list of post-WrestleMania cuts, and this time it’s a former Women’s Tag Team Champion. Kayden Carter—now reverting to her original ring name, Lacey Lane—has broken her silence following her release and made it clear she’s not done with wrestling just yet.
Lane, who alongside Katana Chance built one of WWE’s most consistent and energetic tag teams, shared an emotional message with fans on May 5, 2025 via Twitter. She expressed deep appreciation for her WWE journey, from watching in the crowd to living her dream in the ring:
“From watching on the other side of the barricade at NXT to being in the ring getting to live my dream I am beyond thankful to WWE, coworkers, coaches, everyone behind the scenes and everyone who I was able to share a ring with… This is definitely not the end, and thank you to all the fans who stayed along for the journey. I look forward to see what my future holds!”
Lane’s return to her pre-WWE ring name signals a likely re-entry into the independent scene or a possible run elsewhere, as she now steps into her post-WWE era. Known for her speed, agility, and vibrant in-ring style, Lacey Lane was a breakout name in the indie circuit before joining WWE in 2018.
During her WWE run, she became NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion alongside Katana Chance and later captured the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles after being called up to RAW. Despite the duo’s chemistry and fan support, they often struggled for consistent TV time in a division WWE has failed to build around.
WWE has not publicly addressed her release, but Lane’s heartfelt farewell makes it clear that she’s walking away with no bitterness—only hope for what’s next.
