Karrion Kross and Scarlett are officially free agents—and while they’re enjoying the freedom of the indie scene, they’re not ruling out a future with AEW.
Scarlett recently sat down with Insight with Chris Van Vliet and explained why they’re being careful about their next move after exiting WWE. Scarlett confirmed that AEW was on the table before they re-signed with WWE in 2022, but at the time, the creative didn’t line up.
“Around 2022 right before we came back, there was a conversation about you coming in, but the story wasn’t… it didn’t really make sense.”
Now that they’re back on the market, it’s not about chasing the biggest offer—it’s about finding the right fit. Kross made it clear that creative direction matters more than any paycheck.
“I’ve always been sold on a creative principle versus money. If you put a pile of money in front of me and there’s no principles attached to it, I’m telling you straight up, I’m not interested. If I was lying to you about that, I would have just took what they offered me.”
Scarlett echoed that sentiment, saying any major move like signing with AEW would be treated like a serious, long-term commitment.
“The thing about going somewhere else, it’s almost like jumping from one long-term relationship into another. If we ever go to AEW, we’re going to be flying the AEW flag. That is going to be our home forever… If we go there, we’re going to make this company the absolute best.”
For now, Kross is relishing the freedom that comes with working the indie scene—and the unpredictability that comes with it.
“Just being able to show up anywhere, at any time and do anything, and creating an air of unpredictability at these shows, I think also serves something very interesting to fans as well.”
Their WWE contracts expired in September 2025, and they’ve since made appearances for several independent promotions. But wherever they go next, they’re treating it like more than just a job—it’s got to feel like home.
