Karrion Kross and Scarlett are asking for top-tier rates on the independent wrestling scene following their WWE departure — and at least one promoter isn’t convinced they’re truly out of the company.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, someone involved in indie wrestling brought up the couple’s steep booking prices and expressed doubt about their WWE exit being legitimate.

“One person involved in independent wrestling brought up that Karrion Kross/Scarlett are charging a very high price tag, and after the conversation said that they weren’t buying any of this regarding the WWE departure.”

Despite that skepticism, Karrion Kross has gone on record to confirm he’s a free agent and that his WWE exit wasn’t part of any storyline. He also claimed the decision came down fast.

“Contrary to what people think, it wasn’t a work. I was given 24 hours to accept a new contract, and then it was off the table. I’m a free agent.”

Kross and Scarlett are currently taking limited, high-paying appearances, with their next confirmed stop being The Big Event NY’s “EXS Entertainment x Sports Expo” on November 15 at the Suffolk Credit Union Arena in Brentwood, New York.

While their strategy may keep them exclusive and in demand, it raises questions about how many indie promoters will be able to afford them — and whether this signals a short-term plan or a new chapter that keeps them off mainstream TV for a while.

Are Karrion Kross and Scarlett smart to go premium with their booking fees, or could this approach make them harder to book? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
