Karrion Kross Says WWE Gives Him “Virtually No” Creative Input

Karrion Kross has been a terrifying presence on WWE TV alongside Scarlett, but what fans see on screen barely scratches the surface—at least according to the man himself.

During a new interview with WrestleZone, the former NXT Champion revealed that his input into his own creative direction on the main roster has been minimal. Despite once writing an entire character manifesto when he signed with WWE, he now feels largely sidelined from major decisions about his persona.

“Virtually none. So yeah, not much. I don’t know how much I can say… not much unfortunately. I would love to be more involved with how that comes to life. A lot of times I’m just given what I’m given, and I’m going to do my absolute best to make that as entertaining as possible.”

Kross said the only time he really gets to take creative control is during live segments in front of the crowd.

“What’s really cool about doing anything live in front of the audience—like the in-commercial break—is that’s very free flow. Anytime you ever get in front of the audience, whether you’re in the ring or on the mic, there is an opportunity to allow engagement. But the backstage stuff is very controlled.”

While the presentation of his character may be decided by others, Kross teased that fans haven’t seen the full story yet. He promised a mind-blowing reveal is coming soon—one that explains how his dark, curse-laden storyline with Scarlett actually came together.

“This has been a really fun character to play, and when the time is right, I’m going to tell everybody how this all happened, and it’s going to blow their minds. How we got to this character—who is, for lack of better words, putting curses on people with Scarlett, and the spiraling out and crashing out of their lives following—that whole thing… how all of that came to be…”

He added that the real backstory behind his character is something fans won’t see coming.

“When I tell people how this all played out, it’s going to be world-altering. Because the real story behind all of this to where we are right now is actually unbelievable. And I can’t wait to get there. We’re going to get there. It’s going to be unbelievable. That’s all I can say. It’s not what people think.”

Asked when that story might finally come to light, Kross responded:

“Really soon.”

Karrion Kross isn’t holding back—and if what he’s saying is true, fans could be in for a major twist. Until then, he’s playing the long game while waiting for the real version of his character to break through.
