Karrion Kross isn’t just building his career—he’s building a future, and his wife and on-screen partner Scarlett is right there doing the same.
During his interview on Busted Open Radio, Kross opened up about how the two of them constantly push each other to stay motivated, even when WWE opportunities are limited.
When asked if staying positive gets difficult, especially with the grind of WWE and limited TV time, Kross explained that their relationship is built on keeping each other in check and finding ways to make the most out of every situation.
“Not necessarily, because we kinda take turns keeping each other in check. So whereas she may want more time, I will explain to her that the very little bit of time that she gets, this is how she can get the most out of it—and vice versa to me.”
Kross admitted that they’ve been like this from the very beginning—constantly brainstorming, strategizing, and finding ways to overachieve with whatever time or opportunities they’re handed.
“So if her and I ever hit a wall with something that we’re being given and we feel like maybe we could get more out of it, we’re not sure how to, or we want more—we kinda have a balancing act. We’ve been that way kinda organically since the very beginning. Like, people would be shocked how much we’ve been able to pull out of what we’ve been given when it didn’t seem like a lot.”
According to Kross, their collaboration goes both ways—Scarlett pitches ideas for him, and he contributes creative ideas for her too.
“And she comes up with ideas all the time for me, and I come up with small ideas for her too. That’s kinda just how we have to do it.”
Beyond wrestling, Kross explained that their motivation is fueled by long-term goals and a shared vision for their future—not just in WWE, but in life.
“A lot of my motivations, to be quite frank with you, about success have a lot to do with making sure she is supported too. And she thinks the same way—that I’m supported. You know, and thinking about one day, our future family, our future selves—where do her and I want to land in our lives five or six years from now? Today, are we doing what our future selves need?”
Kross added that they approach every day with that mindset, constantly working to protect their future while staying locked in on their WWE grind.
“When we go to work today, is today going to be a day where we’re going to be protecting where we want to land in five or six years, maybe ten years? And we kinda just approach it like that—very philosophically.”
With both Kross and Scarlett grinding inside and outside the ring, it’s clear they’re focused on more than weekly storylines—they’re playing the long game.
