Karrion Kross Reveals He Nearly Joined AEW Before WWE Return

Karrion Kross was released by WWE back in 2021 after a disappointing main roster run and he would go compete in the indies before returning to WWE again. As it turns out, it appears he almost went to AEW before he ultimately went back to WWE.

While speaking on the Ariel Helwani Show, Karrion Kross was asked if he had talked to Cody Rhodes about joining AEW and if he told them he was unavailable. He confirmed he was in communication with Cody Rhodes, but the conversations naturally faded over time.

Karrio Kross added that while he was still talking with Cody Rhodes at the time, Triple H called him, and he immediately felt that he had to change course and make his way back to WWE.

“Mmmhm, yes. The communication just organically fell off with Cody and me at the time, and in the process of communicating with him when he was there, Hunter had called me and I was like, ‘We’re turning right, we’re going next lane, boom.'”

Karrion Kross returned to WWE back in 2022 and he began a feud with Drew McIntyre. It’s been almost three years since he’s been back and Kross is finally over with fans on the main roster, something he is really appreciative of.

We will have to wait and see how Karrion Kross will continue to be booked in the coming weeks, but some fans still wonder just how successful he would have been in AEW but now it’ll be nothing more than a big ‘What if?’ scenario.
