Karrion Kross and Scarlett may have just announced they’re “no longer with WWE” and are taking bookings, but anyone interviewing the former two-time NXT Champion better be ready to follow one strict rule — don’t ask about his WWE status.
While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that Kross is currently on a media tour for his new book, but interviewers have been given clear instructions from his publisher to steer clear of the elephant in the room.
Meltzer explained that the tour isn’t even connected to WWE, which makes the restriction all the more interesting.
“I know that he’s doing a tour right now — not a wrestling tour, but a lot of media — because his book came out on Tuesday. And the people who are doing interviews with him are being told that… I mean, first of all, it’s not WWE sending him on the tour, it’s ECW Press. And they basically said, like, you cannot ask any questions regarding his contract situation, WWE situation…”
That’s led to speculation over whether his “departure” is a genuine split or part of a carefully planned storyline. With WWE keeping quiet and Kross dodging questions, fans are left guessing what’s really going on behind the scenes.
If this is all part of an angle, it’s one of the more elaborate ones in recent memory. And if it’s legit, Kross is clearly playing his cards close to the vest.
