Karrion Kross may be getting a strong push on WWE television, but behind the scenes, his contract situation remains uncertain. Despite his frequent appearances on SmackDown, involvement in premium live events, and the release of new merchandise, sources within WWE say that Kross has yet to sign a new deal — or even receive an official offer.

On July 24, Fightful Select reported that Kross has told several people within the wrestling business that his contract is still set to expire in August. Multiple talent who have asked him directly about his and Scarlett’s status say they’ve received the same answer: no new deal has been signed, and no formal discussions have taken place.

Even internal WWE sources are staying quiet, with no confirmation of a renewal or negotiation in progress. The lack of transparency has only fueled speculation, especially given that Kross continues to be prominently featured across WWE programming — a sign that usually indicates a deal is already done or very close to being finalized.

Scarlett’s contract is directly tied to Kross’, meaning both of their deals are set to expire around the same time unless there’s a late-breaking extension. Earlier this month, some speculated that Kross may have already re-signed given the uptick in his exposure and merchandise rollout, but this new report throws that assumption into question.

Despite the ambiguity, WWE reportedly still has creative plans in place for Kross and Scarlett, suggesting the company sees value in the pair, whether a new agreement is confirmed or not. As it stands, Kross is playing his cards close to the chest — and it’s unclear when or if he’ll let anyone know what’s really going on.

With just weeks left before his reported contract expiration, the silence around Kross’ status could either be a strategic move or a sign that serious negotiations haven’t started yet.
