Karrion Kross is one of the most talked-about WWE Superstars right now and ahead of WrestleMania 41, rumors suggested Kross was going to be Randy Orton’s opponent. In light of such rumors, Kross has finally set the record straight on that matter.
While speaking on the Ariel Helwani Show, Karrion Kross was asked whether he was ever considered as a potential opponent for Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41. Kross he said it was just something fans talked about online. No one in WWE ever told him he was being considered.
Kross said Randy Orton is one of the best ever, and even though he really wants to face him one day, he didn’t feel right asking for the match himself. He believes the people in charge already know who’s available for big events like WrestleMania, and if they didn’t pick him, that’s just how it is.
“It was only ever something that was tracking online. No one ever said, ‘You’re in the running’ or anything like that. Randy’s one of the greats of all time, and as badly as I wanted to be in the ring with him—and I still do—I’d never be so condescending as to go to them and be like, ‘How about me?’ They know who’s available. It’s a special event, and maybe they felt it was random, but whatever.”
Kross also talked about how he always aims high, but he tries to stay realistic. He admitted he might be a little hard on himself, but he was being honest, he didn’t go after the opportunity, even though maybe he should have.
“For me, there’s always the brass ring. But I feel like there’s also a line of delusion. I think I’m being hard on myself, but I’m telling you the truth—I didn’t. Maybe I should have. I would have loved to wrestle Randy at WrestleMania, but it is what it is”
WrestleMania 41 surprised fans when TNA World Champion Joe Hendry was announced as Randy Orton’s surprise opponent. While Kross wasn’t in consideration, many fans felt he should have been chosen but at the end of the day, Kross simply doesn’t mind not being chosen.
