Julia Hart has been working hard to re-establish herself on the AEW roster since her return to television. Her personality and on-screen persona is a huge part of why fans are drawn to her, and she drew inspiration from two very popular sources.
The House of Black member shared her insights into the influences that helped shape her current wrestling persona. She is obviously a fan of pop culture, as Kill Bill and Wednesday were named as her top two muses.
In an interview with Variety, Julia Hart explained how films and TV shows influenced her approach. She also had good reasons for picking those inspirations.
“I love the ‘Kill Bill’ movies because of how Beatrix holds herself. She’s so badass. I love that. I love ‘Wednesday,’ obviously. Stevie Nicks, too. ‘Sabrina the Teenage Witch’ in the Netflix series, how she has an attitude and she’s sassy and she’s young.”
Julia Hart also spoke about how she views her persona in AEW. Her name is Princess of the Black Throne, which is a play on her House of Black stable. Although she is just starting her career in the business, the company has certainly surrounded her with people she can learn from.
“I call myself the ‘Princess of the Black Throne’ instead of the ‘Queen’ because I feel like princesses are more naive. I still have a lot to learn, I still have so much more to go. I’m just a couple years into wrestling. Learning more in-ring wise, and figuring out people’s brains better, because I love to be the keeper of secrets. Figuring people out, figuring out their weaknesses, how to tear them down and beat them.”
The 2003 two-part epic film, Kill Bill, has inspired a lot of people, from their vocabulary to Halloween costume choices. That Quinton Tarantino film franchise obviously hit home with Julia Hart, because she used it in her current AEW persona.
Julia Hart underwent a significant character change after joining the House of Black in AEW. She later captured the AEW TBS Title before being sidelined due to an injury. She has gone through a big change in AEW already, and odds are she will see even more evolution as her career continues under Tony Khan’s umbrella.
