Julia Hart suffered a serious arm injury back in May last year and was out for several months until her in-ring return this year. Hart has now confirmed that she was actually ready to make her in-ring comeback months prior to her actual return.

While speaking to Denise Salcedo, Julia Hart revealed that the injury was a torn labrum in her right shoulder, which required surgery and about three months of recovery. By the end of September, she was physically ready to return whenever she wanted to but decided to wait longer to ensure she was fully prepared for in-ring competition.

“Yeah, so I tore my labrum in my right shoulder—that was the injury. I had surgery, and the recovery was about three months. After that, I was feeling pretty good for about three months. By the end of September, I could have come back if I wanted to, but it was better for me to wait and make sure I was 100% ready to return to the ring.”

Having never been sidelined by an injury before, the experience was new to her. For her return match, she faced Jamie Hayter, who was obviously a hard-hitting and skilled opponent. To prepare, Julia focused on extensive training, including time in the ring, consistent workouts, and cardio exercises, ensuring she was in top form for her return.

“Especially since I’d never been out with an injury before, I was like, ‘Oh gosh, I’ve never experienced this. I wonder what it’s like coming back.’ And then I found out I’d be working with Jamie Hayter for my first match back. She’s an amazing opponent and super hard-hitting, so I thought, ‘This is going to be really intense, especially for my first match back.’ So, I focused on preparing as much as I could—getting in the ring, working out, and doing cardio to make sure I was ready leading up to the match.”

During AEW Dynamite: Fight For The Fallen, Julia Hart squared off against Jamie Hayter in a solid match and ultimately defeated Hayter as well. Regardless, we’ll have to wait and see what’s next in store for The House of Black member, as the world is truly her oyster.
