Don’t believe everything you read — especially when it comes to Jordynne Grace’s WWE future.
The NXT star just took to Instagram to shut down a viral rumor claiming she’s headed to WWE’s main roster under a brand-new ring name: Sarah Matrix. The supposed rebrand had fans scratching their heads — and Grace made it very clear she’s not about to be renamed anything.
The now-debunked report claimed Grace would debut on RAW or SmackDown “within the coming weeks,” and that WWE was preparing a “significant change to her on-screen identity.” But Grace fired back with sarcasm only she could deliver, as she said, “Source: trust me bro.”
This comes after real talks about Grace’s future in WWE. While the company does have long-term main roster plans for her, there’s no confirmation of when that will happen — and definitely no signs of a name change.
Earlier this year, Grace addressed the topic on Self Made, where she explained why she’s not in a rush to leave NXT to head to the main roster.
“I would hate — and I’m sure a lot of people would hate — to see me go up there and have nothing happen, right? That’s the biggest thing. You just have to trust them. I trust them to bring me up when the time is right.”
She added that NXT is giving her everything she wanted when she signed with WWE — consistent matches, high-profile segments, and room to shine.
“In NXT right now, I’m one of the featured women. I had a steel cage match, I’m reffing this ShowDown match — I’m happy with what I’m doing in NXT right now. I love wrestling. I mean, I signed with WWE so that I could wrestle. Why would I want to go somewhere where I might not be wrestling as often as I am right now?”
While fans can’t wait to see Grace dominate the main roster, the “Sarah Matrix” rumor is simply fake — and Grace’s response only adds to her zero patience for nonsense. For now, she’s focused on building her legacy in NXT — under her name, her way.
