Things took an unexpected turn for Jordynne Grace before the March 6 episode of WWE SmackDown.
Grace competed against Alba Fyre in a match taped for WWE Main Event prior to SmackDown going live in Portland, Oregon. The bout ended with Fyre picking up the win, but the real story came after the match when Grace appeared to be hurt.
Fans in attendance reported that medical staff checked on Grace following the bout and that the issue appeared to involve her knee. The moment raised concern in the arena as Grace had to be helped backstage. Not long after the situation started making the rounds online, Grace addressed it herself on social media and revealed she was in a wheelchair backstage.
“Well, at least there was already a wheelchair waiting.”
Grace posted the message along with a photo showing her seated in a wheelchair backstage while posing with another WWE talent. Despite the situation, she appeared to be in good spirits in the photo.
The moment caught attention because Grace has recently been gaining momentum since arriving in WWE. After building a dominant reputation across the wrestling world, including a run as TNA Knockouts Champion, she had just started making noise inside the company.
As of now, WWE has not issued an official update on the severity of the situation or whether the wheelchair was simply precautionary after the match.
Do you think Jordynne Grace will be back in action quickly, or could this turn into a bigger setback for her WWE run? Drop your thoughts in the comments.
