Jordynne Grace didn’t just sign with WWE to chase titles—she made the jump with her future in mind.

After dominating TNA’s Knockouts division for years, Grace shocked fans by arriving in NXT, and now she’s shedding light on what really drove her decision to walk away from being the face of another company.

Speaking with Zack Heydorn on Sports Illustrated’s The Takedown, Grace was honest about why joining WWE made sense for her long-term goals. While fans might assume it was all about the bright lights or bigger stage, she explained it was about building financial security and preparing for what comes after wrestling.

“Yeah, for sure. I think for me, ultimately… as a woman especially—like historically—we haven’t had the longest careers, right? Like maybe I want to have a kid one day. So at some point, no matter who you are, you kind of have to start prioritizing the money and being able to, you know, contribute to a 401k, invest in, you know, the stock market, all of that real adult stuff.”

Grace made it clear this wasn’t just about another run in the ring.

“So I think it comes down to, ultimately, yes—six weeks off is great—but I would love to be able to retire one day.”

It’s a sobering reminder that even in a flashy business like WWE, the smartest moves aren’t always about fame—they’re about survival. Jordynne Grace has her sights set on more than just championship gold. She’s planning for a future that most wrestlers never get to see.
