Jon Moxley’s recent run in AEW has fans divided—and it turns out, even other wrestlers have been scratching their heads over his promos.

During a recent appearance on Busted Open Radio, Nick Nemeth didn’t hold back when talking about Moxley’s sometimes cryptic mic work, comparing it to none other than The Ultimate Warrior… but with a 2025 twist.

Nemeth admitted that for months, he couldn’t make sense of what Moxley was saying during his promos, describing them as confusing and directionless.

“There was a long lull of time where I did not know what Moxley was f**ing talking about. There was two or three months and I’m like, what is he saying? What does he do? Is this riddles? Is this deeper? Is he just crazy and just doing some like 2025 version of Ultimate Warrior’s promos?”

For longtime fans, that comparison cuts deep. The Ultimate Warrior became notorious for his bizarre, rambling promos that often left audiences—and sometimes his opponents—completely lost.

Nemeth did acknowledge that recently, Moxley has started to clean it up. He praised Moxley’s more grounded, reality-based promos about what it truly means to be a world champion—the pressure, the struggle, and the constant target on your back.

The conversation also touched on Moxley’s current heel run in AEW, which has seen him intentionally blurring the lines between villain and respected veteran. Even though the crowd boos, there’s an undeniable undercurrent of respect for the man who has, as Nemeth put it, “saved the brand three different times.”

Still, the Ultimate Warrior comparison hangs over the conversation, and whether you love Moxley’s chaotic style or think he’s speaking in riddles, there’s no denying his promo game keeps people talking.
