AEW Worlds End 2025 went down at the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. This was AEW’s final show of the year, so they wanted to draw plenty of attention.
Kazuchika Okada defeated Konosuke Takeshita by pinfall in a Continental Classic semifinal match, retaining the AEW Continental and AEW Unified Championships in the process. Had Okada lost, he would have been forced to vacate both titles, which would have guaranteed a new Continental Champion in the final, but the win instead set up a Continental Championship match later in the night.
In the other semifinal, Jon Moxley defeated Kyle Fletcher by technical submission to advance in the tournament. This was despite Moxley breaking a tooth during the match.
This set up a big title match near the end of the night. Don Callis was also on hand for a pre-match hype promo for Okada, where he really put his man over. We haven’t seen Moxley versus Okada yet, but that was about to change.
Fans were practically blown up by the time this match came around. They were all for watching both competitors tear each other apart as the commentary team raved about how great the continental classic has been so far.
When everything was said and done, Jon Moxley was able to clinch the big win. Afterward, the Death Riders all jumped in the ring to get him on his feet and congratulate him. Jon Moxley cut a promo in the ring after the match about how great the tournament has been, and how amazing AEW’s roster is in general.
