John Cena is once again showing why he’s the undisputed king of WWE’s box office. With the Royal Rumble just weeks away, WrestleTix reports that the February 1 event at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis has seen a massive surge in ticket sales. The latest update shows 53,369 tickets distributed out of a setup for 56,265, leaving only 2,896 tickets available. Since the last update just a week ago, sales have jumped by over 3,100 tickets—and Cena’s star power is a big reason why.
In a follow-up tweet, WrestleTix broke down Cena’s unmatched ability to move tickets, writing, “John Cena is once again proving why he’s the top draw in the business at the box office. Since I began tracking major wrestling shows in 2021, his return for the ‘Summer of Cena’ added 2-3K tickets (at minimum) to every show he appeared on.”
The post also acknowledged that while other stars like The Rock, CM Punk, Roman Reigns, and Cody Rhodes have their own drawing power, Cena stands alone as the most consistent ticket-seller in the game.
As part of what’s being billed as Cena’s farewell tour, the WWE legend continues to deliver, even with ticket prices at record highs. Whether it’s major pay-per-view events like the Royal Rumble or regular house shows, Cena’s ability to fill arenas remains unrivaled.
With the Royal Rumble already shaping up to be one of WWE’s biggest events of the year, Cena’s involvement only amplifies the excitement. Fans are clearly eager to see one of the all-time greats in action before he steps away from the ring for good.
