John Cena is five months into his WWE farewell tour, and he just revealed that his recent battle with Randy Orton at WWE Backlash was their last.
During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the Undisputed WWE Champion reflected on his decades-long rivalry with Orton and confirmed they won’t be going head-to-head again.
“On the WWE side, we’re just taking them one at a time,” Cena said. “We did our last one in St. Louis. I had my last match with Randy Orton, and that was pretty cool to call, kinda put a close on that 25-year rivalry. So, it’s, you know, as every chapter happens, it’s a different feeling for everyone.”
Cena lost the Men’s Royal Rumble but bounced back by winning the Elimination Chamber, earning a shot at the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania. John Cena defeated Cody Rhodes to capture the title and recently retained it against Orton at Backlash.
Now, with Orton officially off his list of potential final opponents, fans are left speculating who Cena will face next as his farewell tour continues.
What do you think about Cena’s decision to close the chapter on his rivalry with Randy Orton? Was it the right call, or should they have one more match before Cena hangs up his boots? Drop your thoughts in the comments below!
