John Cena is gearing up for his last match in WWE, and the company already has gear in their official shop. The Greatest of All Time has sold a ton of merchandise before, but he hid a few Easter eggs in his final match t-shirt.
GUNTHER will be John Cena’s final opponent in Washington, DC on December 13. To hype that match, WWE put on a long tournament to determine Cena’s last match. They also released a t-shirt for this historic contest, much like the company has done with every stop along the way for Cena’s farewell tour.
During the Pat McAfee Show, John Cena revealed some Easter eggs that he had put on his final match t-shirt. These go along with the hustle, loyalty, and respect mantra that he has gone by for years.
“Remember when I told you that there were Easter eggs on the shirt? This is ‘Never Give Up,’ and my words about what that means to me. I’m giving you all a spoiler. This is hustle, loyalty, and respect and in my words what that means to me. So, those essentially are core pillars and values to my life. They haven’t really faltered in twenty years. I’m not the same person I was yesterday. I’m certainly not the same person I was in 2005, 2010, we evolve, we grow. My core values of persistence, hard work, and seeking longing connection and just a respect for those who have given me the opportunity and the room around me, that has not faltered. So, for me to be able to sneak that in on the final final, that’s a little piece of inside baseball — Michael Cole would get it, like I said there are a ton of Easter eggs on this one, but a lot of them are selfish, but I took a ton of real estate on this one.”
The text was too small to make out what the sleeves of the shirt say. WWE’s listing also doesn’t let fans make out what it says. So, those lucky fans who get a hold of those t-shirts will get an exclusive peek.
We will have to see how John Cena’s final match in WWE turns out. GUNTHER is a worthy opponent, and Cena spoke highly of him. Only time will tell if he goes out looking at the lights as so many before him have.
John Cena is a shoo-in WWE Hall of Famer, and his t-shirt for that induction will likely be crazy hard to get. That being said, odds are the t-shirt for his final match will also be a collector’s item when everything is said and done.
