Throughout the PG Era of WWE, John Cena was dubbed as “Super Cena” by many simply because he never lost a match. Someone has now criticized that era for making WWE uncool and now John Cena has responded to the same.
While speaking on Entertainment Weekly, John Cena responded to a Reddit user named SR JNP, who claimed that the Super Cena era made WWE uncool and something for kids to watch. Cena shrugged it off, saying that was just that user’s perspective.
The former Leader of Cenation explained that for 25 years, he’s been John Cena which has been his longest running persona. He said what he was really hearing was the opinion of a group of people who probably just didn’t enjoy the performances he was giving at the time.
“‘The Super Cena era made WWE uncool and something for kids to watch.’ That is Reddit user SR JNP. That’s your perspective, pal. For 25 years, I have been John Cena. That has easily been my longest running persona. But what I’m hearing is the perspective of a group of folks that probably didn’t like the performances I was giving.”
John Cena’s obviously a juggernaut in Hollywood right now but he’ll always be grateful for his 25+ years as a professional wrestler. His wrestling career will end in December this year and fans are enjoying every single time he’s on WWE television now, so it’s clear Cena couldn’t care less about his critics.
