John Cena is holding back on fully addressing his recent WWE fan backlash — but he’s promising a more complete response when his current storyline wraps up.

During a new interview with Us Weekly, Cena was asked to elaborate on comments he made about feeling bullied by WWE fans, but he kept his response vague.

“Uh, I can and I I want to be clear with uh you — you just had a a real question, which I appreciate,” Cena said. “What you’re seeing on WWE is sports entertainment. Sure. Okay. So, and I’m not going to give you any spoilers cuz I think we got a really good season of TV going on. Um, but uh I’ll I’ll have a much better answer for that in December when I’m all done.”

Cena’s comments come as he continues to lean into his heel character on WWE television, a drastic shift for the longtime face of the company. Fans have not held back on social media, calling out Cena for his actions and questioning how much of his character is real versus scripted.
