The Forest National in Brussels, Belgium hosted the March 17 episode of WWE RAW. That was quite an interesting show for a lot of fans, especially since it aired early and live on Netflix from across the world for most fans. It was also notable because John Cena was seen for the first time since his historic heel turn.
At Elimination Chamber 2025, John Cena turned heel after a career’s worth of a babyface run. That was a shocking moment, and it resulted in a WrestleMania match with Cody Rhodes that has the entire world’s attention.
This week on RAW, John Cena was around for the first time. He had little to say about anything after the Elimination Chamber with his epic mic drop moment. Now, he is coming back around to hear from the fans.
During the first segment of WWE RAW this week saw John Cena enter to a chaos of boos. Then a battled in the crowd of “let’s go Cena” and “Cena sucks” chants erupted before he said a word. Then Cena got some “you sold out” chants from the crowd as he teased walking off like he did in the press conference after Elimination Chamber.
John Cena couldn’t even start his promo without getting booed. He said that people shouldn’t have to look outside themselves for approval when they are properly grounded. Then he said that fans are making it so easy for him, because he’s been a victim for 25 years of an abusive relationship. He told fans that they lost their time to talk, which caused them to chant even more. He said all fans have done is bully him into being his puppet, while expecting a smile to stay on his face. That caused “f*ck you Cena” chants to come out of the Brussels crowd. Cena called that chant, “classy.“
Then John Cena said he’s not a babyface or a heel, because he is a human being. He said that fans have always been awful to him. He changed himself for the fans, and although it worked for a second, it wasn’t enough. Then he tried to give away everything he could, but it wasn’t enough. That brought out “shut the f*ck up” chants.
The fans then took blame for ruining John Cena’s retirement tour. Then the fans started the “na na na na na na hey Goodbye” chant. Cena said that the fans only take and take and care about themselves. John Cena said fans only asked what they can get out of his retirement tour, and he proclaimed that they get nothing because they have earned nothing.
Fans started to chant for Cody, and John Cena called the American Nightmare the fans’ “brand-new shiny toy.” He said that fans prove how awful they are, even the “let’s go Cena” people. He said that they steal from him, and that’s pathetic. Cena said that those fans only wear hustle, loyalty, and respect, but he lives it every day.
As John Cena broke up with the fans, saying he doesn’t need them, and they don’t matter to him anymore, Cody Rhodes’ music hit. The American Nightmare got in the ring, and fans had even more chants for him.
Cody Rhodes clapped back at John Cena, as he said that fans also gave him their best for 25 years. They did that because he was special, and they believed in him. John Cena tried to say something, as he called Cody a kid, but Rhodes cut him off. Rhodes then said that he wants to wrestle the old Cena at WrestleMania 41, “not this whiney b*tch.” That is when Cody Rhodes tossed his mic down and left the ring. John Cena left a short time later without saying another word, and fans pelted him with the na na na na na goodbye song once again.
We will have to see what the road to WrestleMania looks like from this point on, but this was certainly an impressive 30-minute segment, and a big start to RAW this week.
