John Cena is steering clear of any talk about running for president, despite recently playing a fictional U.S. President in the upcoming buddy action comedy Hez State.

During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Cena was once again asked if he would consider a political career. Instead of addressing the idea, Cena smoothly redirected attention back to his latest project.

“I hope everybody enjoys Heads of State on Prime Video,” Cena said, dodging the question entirely. The interviewer couldn’t help but point out his clever response, saying, “Oh, John, that was such a diplomatic answer. See, you’re already well on your way to being a politician. I love it.”

This isn’t the first time Cena has sidestepped the political question. In a previous interview with Us Weekly, he made it clear that his role as a fictional president on screen doesn’t mean he’s eyeing the Oval Office in real life. “This is a movie and I’m playing a role in a buddy action comedy,” he said. “I just uh happen to wear a suit and say my character’s in the Oval Office. I think that’s about as far as we can take that.”

Cena continues to balance his evolving acting career with his ongoing heel run in WWE, but one thing’s for sure — he’s not throwing his hat into the political ring anytime soon.
